Emergency Responder of the Year
Emergency medical technicians play an integral role in the health care needs of a community. Recognizing this fact, the Waverly Exchange Club recognizes an outstanding EMT from Bremer County each year. Winners are presented with an engraved plaque and honored at a meeting.
2014 EMT of the YearThe
Waverly exchange Club recognized Randy Pfile of the Tripoli Ambulance Service as the 2014 EMT of the Year. Pfile was nominated and selected by members of the Bremer County EMS Association. Randy started with the volunteer
service in 1983 and has been serving continuously. In addition to serving on
the ambulance service, Randy also teaches basic life support, EMS courses, and
courses at Hawkeye Community College. He and his wife Nancy owned Pfile
Insurance Agency in Tripoli for the past 24 years. 2014 is the first year the
Waverly Exchange Club honored a local emergency responder who was nominated by
his or her peers to highlight the service and dedication of those serving our
community.
